"HOBBS - MONO MONDAY"

Thanks to Hobbs for hosting this Mono Monday theme.

I've passed by this building for years and never thought to find out what it was. However now that blipping has become addictive I thought I'd investigate. Just as I parked the car the clouds descended and it started to sprinkle. I took a few shots before it began to rain.

The SOLDIERS AND SAILORS MEMORIAL BUILDING was built in 1892 as a memorial to the 40 townsmen who died in the Civil War. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building is being restored and will be used as an exhibit space to share the Huntington Historical Society's collection of historic resources.
