Pruning - French style!
Friday
I had bible study this morning - we've changed it from Monday morning to Friday. There were only three of us, but we still had some good discussion over the new book we have started, The God who is there, by D.A. Carson. It was after noon when we wrapped up, and it was another gorgeous day, so I drove into Fontainebleau, bought myself a sandwich and went to eat it in the grounds of the chateau, before going for a walk. It wasn't a very peaceful walk, however, as they were pruning the long avenue of trees which extends the full length of the grand canal, so there was the sound of three or four chain saws. Despite the noise, however, I was lucky enough to see a great-crested grebe and a cormorant in addition to the usual swans and geese on the grand canal.
