Grace and Favour
I had occasion to visit Bearsden Cross this morning and was cheered to notice that a new shop is about to open called 'Grace and Favour'. As you can see from the picture its signage is being meticulously hand painted.
In the UK a 'Grace and Favour' home is owned by the Crown or a charity and, in modern times, is often within the gift of the Prime Minister. I was intrigued to find out what the shop would sell. Well, it will stock some of the best quality Scottish produce that money can buy! The antler motif indicates that organic venison from the hills will certainly feature. Interesting! Competition certainly for M&S Food and another small privately-run delicatessen at the Cross. I hope they all continue to thrive.
