Wind Storm

When we got home today, we found much tree debris from a windstorm while we were gone. One of the casualties was the top of one of our favorite trees, an evergreen (spruce?) of some sort, that lost its top in the wind. On closer inspection, the tree had been damaged some years ago, and it broke at the scar. I planted this approximately 15 years ago, and it was close to 35 feet tall. The broken top itself was about 20 feet. Sad…it was such a shapely tree. Not what we wanted to come home to.
