Anemone

Springtime is upon us, the clocks went forward last night. We headed to the nursery today where I saw these gorgeous anemones, a sea of beautiful color, the purply blues were the ones that really caught my eye with the way they glowed.

This afternoon I planted our purchases: lettuce of various kinds, kale, a raspberry plant, a tayberry plant, and a blueberry shrub. Can't wait!

I've been engrossed reading Full Rip 9.0, it's fascinating. Last night I was reading a chapter about the Seattle Fault and a submerged forest under Lake Washington. The scale of the quakes discussed are mind boggling. Whether we'll see a quake of this magnitude in our lifetime remains to be seen but it seems one is due.

I haven't recently noted any movies I've seen, so here they are:

Cutie and the Boxer (2013) documentary. A very candid movie about the marriage of artist Ushio Shinohara (boxing painter) and his wife Noriko who is also an artist. It was interesting, I liked Noriko's work far more than Ushio's. I also felt some sympathy for their now adult son who had grown up in this chaotic lifestyle.

Amour (2012), Emmanuelle Riva, Jean-Louis Trintignant. A very moving film, it was excellent.

Revanche (2008), Johanne Krisch. An Austrian thriller, very engrossing.

Catching Fire (2013), Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson. The latest in the Hunger Games series, pretty good.
