Hardwick Old Hall
first of all, can I please book this weather for every Sunday :))
we went for a lovely walk around the extensive estate of NT Hardwick Hall with its lovely pools and lakes. Photography was second to enjoying the walk today but did get ny first blip of a lovely male Gadwall and have put it here in blipfolio.
We didn't venture into the New Hall, 1590, as the weather was too good to waste but did climb the 4 floors of the ruined Old Hall. Remodelled to be the family home of Bess of Hardwick, one of the richest and most remarkable women of Elizabethan England. I hope you like the view through one of the remaining window frames.
