The ancestor at Solstice Park, Amesbury, Wiltshire
This 22 ft, seven ton figure was created by local artists from thousands of hand cut pieces of steel welded to a frame. The statue depicts a man with head thrown back and arms open wide to capture the moment the sun comes up and has dropped to his knees in thanks. He made his debut at the 2010 summer solstice celebrations at Stonehenge.
