Fly Into The Sun
Day 2 of our little adventure. Today at Torgnon, a little detour on the usual drive up to Cervinia. Great little resort with a great kids area. CC got to play with one of her friends from school today which was great, but again when she sets her limit there is no chance to get beyond it. (No, I didn't organize a proper ski lesson like I should have...) Technically, less skiing than Yesterday, but overall a better quality day. So, that is enough I suppose!
Amazing the amount of snow in the mountains right now and incredible how warm it is... we just got a week long sunny and warm spell. Today I was dressed in an old 1990's spring one-piece ski suit that was making a personal fashion statement. (Think Flock of Seagulls or Duran Duran in the 80's and you're not too far off...) I was sweating all the same. Let's hope some of this snow sticks around for a while. I am feeling super guilty now for having missed nearly all of this year's ski season and hope to make another outing or two before it all melts!
An interesting winter for Northern Italy. On the plains it has been rainy and cool. Up in the mountains, there is snow in abundance. There was more than a meter of snow on the roofs around Valtournenche Yesterday and nearly as much today at Torgnon. A bit of a drive down the valley and it was all gone... such a difference.
