A Peep Thru the Pinhole

Sandstone

Much of the geology of the Wyre Forest area of Worcestershire is sandstone, a soft, reddish, porous rock. This can easily be seen in road cuttings through rock, and in many other random areas in north-west Worcestershire. The example in the photo shows the stunning colour of this material. This example was photographed along side the canal, adjacent to the lock (and The Lock pub) in Wolverley.
