A beautiful day...

Today we went to the North Sea coast to enjoy the first beautifully warm and sunny day of the year. We stopped off in Husum to see the crocus park. The Husum crocuses are very special and cover almost the whole park. At the end of March there will be special 'crocus days' to celebrate them. This is a little taster of the scene! :-)

We then headed for the beach at St Peter-Ording, but the whole area was packed, so we went to another beach a few kilometres away instead. We had to walk for ages through grassland to get to the beach, and then it was at least a kilometre from the start of the beach to the water's edge, as the tide was out. I've never been on such a vast beach in my life. Really. Alfred loved it and the sun was hot and the sky was blue! I took loads of photos of the day, but I like this one best. I think I'm going to get a flickr account to upload more of my photos, as some days I just can't decide and it will be nice to have somewhere else to store my other favourites.

Thanks Mr K and Alfred for a wonderful day. And now... macaroni cheese (with Cathedral City extra strong cheddar), and carrot and nut salad. A glass of red wine and a DVD of either Midsomer Murders, Death in Paradise, or DCI Banks - all courtesy of my sweet mum! :-)
