Auld Buildings

What a miserable day it has been out there! We nipped out to Haddington during a lull in the rain, and walked along the river with Archie.

This is a turret type looking building in the grounds of St Mary's church. Not sure what it is for, or what it was for.

I'm sure someone could enlighten me? ;)
