Tangkuban Perahu

We awoke early on Sunday morning - and I mean early (roosters, call to prayer, etc. were extremely loud in our guest house!) - and made our way to the first notable stop of the day: Kentucky Fried Chicken. Boasting a 24 hour (here it's called 24 Jam) menu, we stopped in to grab some early morning eats. On the whole the experience wasn't very filling, but it was pretty funny! We were impressed that they serve food on actual KFC-branded plates and coffee in proper mugs!

Next it was another climb upward to Tangkuban Perahu, which last erupted in 1983. It's a powerful looking crater, smoking from several places, and looking quite ominous!

After poking around the rim of the crater, we negotiated with a guide named Quitra to take us to Kawah Domas crater. This is another cool crater, considered a parasitic crater since it's on the side of the volcano, and features hotsprings so hot that they'll boil eggs. We tried it, and can say that the eggs we ate were pretty well boiled! We tested a few of the pools with our feet, and finally found a tolerable on that we soaked in for a little while. It was a really awesome weekend!
