Relaxation & Shopping
After a well earned and much appreciated sleep, we awoke in Cusco for a day of relaxation and recovery. We headed out for brunch, which was delicious (but would later prove to be the cause of some pretty severe gastro in two of our comrades)!
The others wanted to get massages, so Dam and I headed to a giant souvenir/ handicrafts market we had spotted on our first day in Cusco. We had fun buying souvenirs for everyone at home, and marvelling at all the handicrafts the Peruvians make! Of all the countries I've travelled to, Peru most definitely has the most variety and quality when it comes to souvenirs.
In the afternoon we bought some beers and gathered in the courtyard of our hotel to play cards before dinner. Cue the dreaded gastro - Courtney and Willy simultaneously excused themselves from our festivities and were out for the count for the remainder of the evening!
The rest of us headed to a restaurant called Fallen Angel, which had a heaven & hell theme, and some crazy and impressive decor. Here we tried the famous dish Ceviche which I really enjoyed. After a run back to the hotel in the pouring rain, we settled in for our last night in Cusco.
Tomorrow, The Amazon!
