Tree slaughter
This is Slaughter Week. Monday my meeting in Memmingen was in "Slaughterhouse Road", on Tuesday Angie and I were in MrB's "Slaughter House" and yesterday I Bliped the "slaughtering" hen harrier.
Today cut down four trees which were causing problems on the edge of one of the fields. They were shooting upwards as they were crowded out and would not provide the low dense cover we need. The last tree was close to a shed and had to be felled to fall between two apple trees which were only a few meters apart. While I have got pretty good at judging the direction (thanks to my trainer Sepp Ort almost 20 years ago) I did attach the tree to the tractor by rope to make double sure. All went well.
