St Cuthbert Church

I was awake ridiculously early (for me) this morning so after drinking way too much coffee I thought I'd head to the Saturday Farmers Market in town, which I haven't been to ages since the Stockbridge Market started up (as it stays open until 5pm instead of 2pm). The town was swarming with French rugby fans for the France V Scotland 6 Nations game at Murrayfield this afternoon.

I took this shot of the church from Castle Terrace on the way to the market, i did take a few more pictures but it was very windy and not a lot of fun being out so after picking up some venison steaks, some Arran cheeses and a couple bottles of Eden beer I scuttled off to the Hanging Bat for a couple beers ;-)

I had not intended to watch the rugby (I was pretty sure what the result would be) but as I got home earlier than planned and there was nothing else on TV I ended up watching the game, it actually looked as if Scotland might win the game, they were up by one point with 2 minutes to go and then conceded a penalty that let France take the lead with no time left to recover :'-( So a depressing start to the evening.

I consoled myself with a beer and a couple tasty venison steaks which I cooked on a bed of bacon bits with Cayenne Pepper, black pepper and garlic well as the juice and pulp of a freshly squeezed orange.
