McDonalds Gibbet

I went into work for the last time to wrap up loose ends. It made me think of endings. This image is of the replica gibbet that stands in a place where real hangings once took place. There is an irony that it is now overshadowed by a McDonalds (the drive in mirrors the gibbet's L shape). Given our times of austerity, I am not sure that living on cheap fast food is so far removed from being hanged for stealing food to survive.
