Walking in the Cheviots

I was off very early this morning because the Cheviot Panorama walk started at 0900 in the Ingram Valley. I made it with time to spare. There were 20 of us out with Shepherd's Walks, run by my good friend, Jon Monks. Richard was today's leader. As always, he was full of information about the area.

It was fine but became so windy that it was difficult to stay standing at times. All cobwebs were well and truly blown away. It was not too cold, but we needed our coats zipped up and hats well on to prevent them from blowing away. In today's image you see one of the walkers when the wind had momentarily died down. He even looks as though he is enjoying himself!

Nearer to home, Mum went to the new exhibition by the Hexham Embroiderers' Guild. It's in the Queens Hall, Hexham and well worth seeing. They are celebrating a big birthday. Mum, as the oldest member, was asked to cut the cake along with one of the founder members. She may even be in the paper this week, so is very excited. Needless to say she has a new embroidery in the exhibition. There is no stopping her.
PS Correction - she has 3 new embroideries in the exhibition!!

Salamander tonight if I can stay awake.
