A day for the girls

Funny reading Twitter this morning and Richard Herring tackling some rather misogynistic posts about it being International Women's Day. The reaction was predictable, with blokes complaining that there isn't an International Men's Day. The slight problem with suggesting that not having a version for chaps is sexist, or double standards, is... well.... there IS an International Men's Day. On November 19th.

The other thing the people complaining seem to miss is that there a very few places (and?) in the world where men are treated more poorly simply because of their sex. Whereas even in this civilised country of the UK women are paid less overall for the same jobs and come up against barriers simply because they lack a Y chromosome.
