There and back again

Primroses

So what you may ask !. For the 30 odd years I have been walking at Lamberts Castle I have never seen a Primrose here. Over the past few years the National Trust have been carrying out annual clearing of areas to encourage the growth of wild flowers and other plants.

Last year they cleared an area of what was bramble and small trees. Whilst hunting in that area for the location of the plaques featured in yesterdays blip, I found these tucked away behind these trees. It could have been that they had been hidden away under the brambles out of sight but I think that the clearing work and extra light falling on the ground has made these little flowers start to grow.

I know that the ground clearing have made the numbers of bluebells increase so lets hope it does the same for the primroses.
