The promised rhododendron
Another dull day here, but dry so far. Sheila drove me into Oban to visit the library - I had intended to drive, but the new hip's still a bit sore so I let her do it!
Quick walk around the garden on my return - this early rhododendron is labelled Rh. sutchuenense hybrid as it was similar to the species but not quite right. Quite a big plant - some 15ft high or more. There are a number of rhododendrons out now, just waiting for that tantalising frost to see them all off! It usually takes about -4C to wreck them.
