European Wasp

We had a birthday to prepare for today. My niece, Rachel, had a family get together to celebrate her 19th birthday. A lovely time had by all.

While the barbeque was being put to work I meandered around the well attended garden and consequently had a hard time choosing which image to post. These wasps are a pest in NZ. They kill off our own native bees and are mostly responsible for the deadly damage to our native beech forests.
