Boys in the Banyan

Our day in Florida was dark and bleak. It struggled to stay at about 60F (15C.) Soooo...we went to the flea market...to get more strawberries.

Soft red seeded morsels of fruit goodness. A slab of shortcake, and a dollop (don't you just love that word?) of Cool Whip, and you done got yourself a real treat.

This is a picture of me on the right, and my two buddy-boys. Jeff, my son...was my original buddy-boy...and I thought I'd never have another. BUT...then my grandson Merrick came along...and it just seems natural to call him Buddy-boy, too. To me...it's a real term of endearment. Excuse my English...but it don't get no better than Buddy-boy. No way...no how.

We had to stop at this banyan tree to show Jeff that it really is one tree. It is spread over a wide area (perhaps 40-50 feet.) The "mother" tree sends out " shoots" that shoot to the ground, and start a new trunk. Jeff doesn't remember, but we stopped at this same tree, and took his picture when he was just about Merrick's age. (You just can't beat tradition.)

Thanks to all of you who stopped by yesterday on my 3 year blip. Very encouraging...very uplifting.

Now...about that strawberry shortcake...
