Let this book be your bench,
and a benchmark, a test:
Will you sit while you read
or sit, simply, to rest?

Is reading a chore,
a punishment or
a pleasure, a leisure
(that still ties you down)?

Or are there folk out there
who'd steal it away
if the ball and its chain
were not there as a stay?

Some people walk round it;
some sit for sec.
but I choose to blip it;
why not? What the heck!
