'The Famous Red Velvet Cake'..........!

Well......this is it!!
I've never made or even tasted this famous American cake before.....
but have been looking at a recipe in one of Rachel Allens Bake books for it for quite a while......so, today I decided it was time to give it a try.................!
And this is how it turned out.....!
it's a simple but detailed process......and the icing is a 'frosting'........
so.....it's taken me all evening to finish it......and now it's too late to eat it....'aaaaaaw'..
the icing hasn't set yet......!
We have to wait 'til tomorrow to taste it.............!!
I am pleased with the look of it 'tho.....
and hope it tastes as good as it looks!!!!!!!!
