Answer to the quiz

Two days ago I made a quiz to see if somebody knew this strange object.

I promised you the answer this weekend, so here it is.

Believe it or not, but the object can be used to hang your handbag under a table.

It seems that Niels his girlf knew the answer. Is that correct?
