Craftivism

A couple of artists have made masks of famous women with links to Manchester and displayed them on the male portrait busts in the Town Hall, giving them "craftivist crochet facelifts"; this is Elizabeth Gaskell. More info here. Can't say I can see the resemblance but I like the idea. And I imagine it's no coincidence that it's International Women's Day tomorrow.
