Old meets new
"Frankie and Benny's" at Weavers Wharf in Kidderminster. This so-called Italian-American chain of restaurants opened its first diner in Leicester in 1995 (source Wikipedia). This relatively modern establishment is, here in Kidderminster, situated in one of the old wharf buildings adjacent to the canal, and which forms part of Kidderminster's industrial heritage. The canal served to transport the raw materials to, and the finished product from, the carpet trade, which was (and still is) the hallmark of this rural Worcestershire town.
