A Great Endeavour

A little bit of culture today as I visited the Joseph Banks exhibition at The Collection in Lincoln with my friend Alison.

Lots of interesting stuff lent for the exhibition from the British Museum, the British Library, the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford and the Captain Cook Museum in Whitby, which we visited last year. Banks was born in Lincolnshire, hence this quite surprising opportunity for us country bumpkins to sample a bit of big city culture.

It was then just a short but steep trek up Steep Hill to the Bookstop Cafe for tea and cake.

What a nice day.
