Orkney Woodland!

Our friend who died last December was never a gardener, but his late wife had been many years ago. Now the sycamore trees, brambles, willows and rosa rugosa have taken over and it is wonderfully wild. The pampas grass has self seeded itself all over the place too, making the back garden almost impenetrable - even for Ollie!

The house is going on the market very soon and a few of us have been helping his partner clear it out. When I was there I had spied snowdrops up through the trees so went back to day to see if I could get to them. Lovely to see them in a very un-Orkney setting.

Yesterday Mike and I took the car to the local garage and the boys put new tyres on it and brought it back to the house within 45 minutes. That's service for you!
They combined the bringing it back with checking their sheep - nobody here has only one job!
