eat cake

Because I was home straight after school pick up and I didn't have to rush back out again tonight - we decided to bake a cake. So we chose a random recipe book of which we have far too many and found a recipe whose ingredients we had and off we went. Once again I should really read through the whole thing before I commit - what a faff separating eggs, beating to peaks, folding in (with only a metal spoon!!!) etc etc - but we got there!

Although we have decided that raw cakes taste far better than cooked ones and now my eldest kid is wondering if there is a market for an 'uncooked cake company' - she thinks the whole baking business is missing a trick - people like to eat uncooked cakes (although with no research - maybe they do this already - somewhere!)

Other than that - work and work although a perk of our job is that we get to go to many outdoor brand's sample sales and so we now have two extra backpacks that fit nicely into our ever expanding range of 'things to carry our stuff in'!

For the record this is the morning that our eldest set her alarm an hour earlier than normal in error - then yelled at her brother when it was 6.50am (thinking it was 7.50am) that he needed to get up as he had ten minutes before the bus arrived - no one was amused!
