Happy Birthday Mum

We have no idea how old my mum is today ( we have a rough idea) and if we dared to ask she would be offended
"Age is just a number" and she's right, it is.
My mum Ruth lives in Essex as do both my sisters so this eve they are all having dinner together
Ruth has become very cynical about celebrating anything of late
Christmas, Birthdays, New Years
I'm not celebrating because it's just another year of getting older and nearer to dying was what she said when she was here New Year.
Mum you should celebrate every day of living, of having your family, you have maybe another 20 years of living yet so start celebrating another day of living rather than another of dying.
I hope I don't think like that when I'm older.

Anyway, Happy Birthday mum, I hope you've had a lovely day and you are spoilt rotten xxx
