I'm still standing
Tonight whilst venturing around my local town i found myself walking through the grounds of this timber framed medieval manor house built in the 1460's, it's well renowned as one of the best preserved in the country and as a child i myself spent endless hours navigating my way through the maze of narrow corridors and rooms that are confined within its ancient walls. It's astounding to think that in the mid-20th century there were plans to demolish this national treasure for a car park, thankfully the local community protested and it was saved from a tragic end, and so it still stands on the exact spot it has occupied for 554 years and hopefully many more after that!
