And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda

A few years ago several million pounds were spent on giving Sefton Park a makeover: trees were rationalised, paths were re-surfaced, play equipment was renewed, the cafe was redone- and the bandstand was repainted. It sits on an island behind a locked gate, waiting for a band.
