fire! moseying about on my post-work photo walk, i happened upon a bit of excitement as a bunch of fire trucks rushed off to an emergency of some sort. the use of "rush" in this sentence is perhaps a hopeful euphemism - since koreans generally don't yield to emergency vehicles, if there's traffic, there isn't a whole lot of "rushing" going on. the sight of this guy waving his lightstick thingy frantically out the window, imploring people to get out of the way, would have been comical if not for the potential seriousness of the situation. given the complete lack of urgency displayed by any of the fire fighters in this procession (except for lightstick guy), i can only assume that either a) koreans are cool under pressure, or b) it wasn't that serious.
