Normally most people are happy to be flying into Queenstown. Today, I was very happy to leave it ..

Atrocious weather earlier closed the airport, which then hit Christchurch. Gale-force winds and floods.

So, a couple of coffee meeting in the morning, and then an anxious wait to see if we’d get home. Our plane arrived. Tick. We took off. Tick. A few bumps … and then miraculously we landed, in very bad conditions. Hurrah!

Dropped my colleague off, picked up a friend, then off to Cassells for a beer. Literally a beer island, flooded all around the bar. Exciting.

Marooned at a bar, perfect!
