Sinterklaas

Who? Yep. Saint Klaas! Our dutch tradition, the Good Holy Man from Spain, with all his funny helpers throwing around candy and sweets. He celebrates his birthday every year at december 5th for the last 600 years now. He arrives in Holland by boat and everybody is happy. All the kids receive presents at 'packagenight' that day. His helpers climb down the chimney with the presents and Sinterklaas rides his white horse (?) on the roofs. Naughty children are put in a bag and taken back to spain. R U still with me on this?? LOL

He returns to Spain on December 6th. Guess what! Another lunatic is knocking on our doors. He lives on the North Pole, rides the sky shouting HO HO HO!!! Whats his name again?! Can't wait for January when they have both 'left the building' and all is back to normal again...

Ah well. All for the kids! :-)))
