Green shoots of recovery?

Long day. Up at three am for an early shift, then off to Edinburgh straight after it to visit Dad. Had a nice barbecue and while the men did the cooking, I walked about the garden looking for a blip. There wasn't much to photograph but I liked the new spring growth on this bush. I forgot to ask Dad what kind it was though.

I'm sorry about my lack of comments in the last few days, I am off now until Saturday so will hopefully have a bit more time.
