Another sunset, another blip
It struck me tonight just how fortunate we are as photographers in the digital age. I was driving home from some errands and was mesmerized by the sunset. Before we all carried cameras (and phones) in our pockets, the image of this gorgeous scene would have been merely a memory unless I happened to have a film camera with me at that precise moment.
We, on the other hand, can capture just about any image we want and post it all across the world on dozens of websites, apps and online galleries in the matter of minutes. When I think about that for a while, and then remember how quickly this digital age has evolved, I'm almost dumbfounded.
As for The Old Days, I don't think I would have had the patience to be a photographer if I needed to spend all that time in a dark room just to see my photos. Instant gratification...that's me.
