Courting

A pair of ducks were sleeping next to each other as I walked home past the brook. Unfortunately rummaging in my bag for my camera disturbed them, so that they were preening and stretching by the time I was ready to take a picture. They were also not so close together so it is not a very good photo. It is a reminder to always have my camera to hand on the walk home. I hope this couple decide to nest on this patch of ground by the brook. We have had families of ducks on this stretch of the Bloody Brook in previous years and it is always delightful to see them with their babies.
