"When we grow up, we want to be..."
I saw these crocuses sprouting beside our cherry tree in the front garden, and for some reason what came into my mind was "imprinting" in young animals: for example, when the first thing a newly-hatched duckling sees is a rottweiler, it assumes that's its parent, latches on to it and copies it. (And when it reaches adulthood, you end up with a duck that snarls ferociously when you try to take its bone away :)
I just imagined these little crocuses pushing up through the grass, seeing this tree rising up beside them, and thinking "Hey, someday we're going to be as big and tall as THAT!"...
