Red Berry Tree

This tree grows at the bottom of our garden, no idea what it is but it's pretty vicious with enormous long spindly thorns (very well hidden, from the photo you probably think I'm making that up but I have lacerated gardening gloves to prove it...) so I don't normally go near it. If anyone can tell me what it is I'd love to know!
