waiting

This morning we spent some time at the hospital visiting an aunt. It was the medical oncology ward. Many of the patients here are clearly very ill, and their friends and relatives are simply waiting. Waiting for updates from the doctors, waiting and hoping for the treatment to be effective, waiting for the end. It was a sobering experience. Our aunt is very ill, but she is a strong Christian, and is ready to meet her maker. She has faced her illness and mortality with so much strength and faith, she is a real example to us.
