Storm Casualties
When we arrived at Cornwall Park for our pétanque game last week the entrance we normally use was blocked. We assumed that it was because of downed trees and branches due to heavy snow accumulation, and used an alternate entrance.
We played our game on the snow -- it wasn't the most enjoyable game we've had. The balls didn't roll much -- they just dug holes in the snow, and my hands got cold in spite of the hand-warmers in my gloves.
The weather wasn't favorable today, either -- it rained all morning -- but it was warmer than last week, I had waterproof gloves, and the debris added some variety to the game.
It was sad to see how many old trees were lost or damaged.
