Clanger with Beer

Clanger got very upset about the news that a big brewery was trying to bully "Elixir Brewing" through the use of a (pointless) trademark dispute, he was busy making campaign posters to save the little Edinburgh brewing company (you can read about it here) and he wanted me to Blip his poster but he then heard that the nasty big company had posted on facebook that they had changed their minds, I suspect the massive response on the internet and social media sites made them think twice over what was really a pointless task (the large brewery doesn't even appear to use the name "Elixir" anymore it was a one off beer they made a couple years ago!) local bars and people in Edinburgh had already started collecting money to help Elixir pay legal costs (they're only a small two man local operation).

Anyway as the situation appears to be resolved, Clanger decided to celebrate with a beer, not having any Elixir beers on hand he's opened a bottle of "Silverback in the USSR" from "Blue Monkey Brewery" (not from Edinburgh but Nottingham) it's a rather lovely Russian Imperial Stout I picked up at The Beer Hive.

It's not always easy to support the small local or independent companies, it's a fact of life that the bigger companies can produce often offer cheaper goods but I try and do what I can when possible and urge everybody else to do the same.
