Deep in the forest....

After a good few hours of painting the walls in the studio....it's coming along so well...looks so bright and beautiful, and we only have the first coat of primer on....terry and i (and the dogs of course)....went off on a walk. We headed off on our usual path, which had come to be called, Fairy Glen Path....there is such an abundance of magical areas...i just love it there. But this time we headed off into the forest....it's such a different landscape in there, walking along side the wild forest is one thing...venturing into that space is a totally different experience. There is such a varied and rich atmosphere....the moss is so dense you feel like you're walking on something so giving, so alive...and of course it is....it's got a softness and acceptance that feels so beautiful. the smells are so pungent, the light is dense and the moss is growing over everything....old stumps, dead trees that have long been buried under this lush and green moss.

We wandered around, up and down....over little streams.....i loved it! there is a silence in the midst of the forest that is undescribable!

and now it's almost dinner time...so after another wonderful day at Big Hill, i wish you all a good evening from Cape Breton Island!
