One to One

We're both pretty tired, but in particular; Hutch, so I wanted to take her away for the night.

We dropped m'boy off with his overnight bag and orders for the nursery the following morning with Nanna and Grandpa and headed off up to Keswick for a bit of a wander about.

It was really nice strolling about the place at our own speed and having the time to catch up and talk about important stuff and laugh about the silly stuff.

We had our lunch, followed by another short wander before deciding that it was time to head up to the hotel. It was with some trepidation that we approached the reception desk - this was as the result of an encounter at a London hotel in October last year, when we were told we had cancelled our reservation (we hadn't) and had to deal with the rudest receptionist on the planet.

However, we need not have worried, they found our details immediately, but hold, our tale of victory endeth not there....we were then informed that we had been given a "complimentary upgrade" to a "really nice room".....which was something of an understatement.

The room was lovely, with a massive bed and plenty of space, but the absolute kicker was this view FROM THE BALCONY. We were giggling like a couple of school kids as we couldn't believe our luck, but we settled down with a cup of tea in the late Winter's sun marvelling at our good fortune and deciding that karma had redressed the balance from our previous bad experience.

I haven't even spoken about the sumptuous spa, sauna, steam room and outdoor hot tub.

Fantastic night away made all the better that I returned home today with a relaxed and rested Hutch who couldn't wait to see her little boy again.
