Childhood Memory

Went on a bit of adventure on my own today on the Birmingham buses. I just had to make one connection to get from my sister's to the hospital where my mum is. But I missed the stop I was supposed to get off and ended up in the city center! I found out how to correct my mistake without retracing my steps, so felt quite pleased with myself, even if the trip took twice as long as it should've!

This mural of the Sign Man, which I have passed twice on my bus travels, features distinctly in my childhood memory as a comforting landmark that meant I was getting near my home in Erdington. It amazes me that it's still here after all this time and still looks the same as I remember!

Mum now has a full thigh to ankle cast on, which is more support than the half slab she had on previously. This means she can start physical therapy and is expected to go back to her nursing home tomorrow. So I plan to fly home on Thurs.
