Shrove Son-in-Law and So Long for Lent

Invited today for pancakes at my daughter's. Her husband stuffed them with chicken, chorizo and mushrooms, and covered in cheese before baking - yum. And then some sweet ones - I had blueberries and cream on mine.

Beauty-filled walk in Sutton Park with my sister, and my Mum doing really well - hoping she'll get out of hospital tomorrow.

Tomorrow, Lent begins. Will be reading what looks like being a superb book, The Heart's Time by Janet Morley, which has a poem a day and a short meditation for all the days of Lent, except Sundays, and for a week afterwards. Wondered whether to give up Blip for Lent, but have decided to post these poems, or part thereof, and to try to find a photo that relates. However, will do only that - will turn off my comments, and not look at other journals. So it's a sort of temporary good-bye from me.

Except for Sundays - if I get a chance, will try to catch up with my Blipfriends then - Lent does NOT include the Sundays (most folk don't seem to know this). But, when the Church came up with the idea of fasting for 40 days over Lent, they did not count the Sundays - the idea being that folk were more likely to keep to it if they had a break every week.
