My Life in A&E

Local trees in local sunlight.

Thanks to Irw, who blips from Canada, I now know that the weirdy "nest" thing that I see so often in trees here, is mistletoe. I had no idea.

Mistletoe.

It's a bit like nuts. If you have never really thought about where nuts come from, it is a surprise (or it was for me) to discover that they grow on trees, as it were.

The only time I ever think about mistletoe is at Christmas (obviously, and also) when old Joe Grundy goes and cuts mistletoe with his son on (BBC radio soap) "The Archers". I just assumed that it was a ground level 'cos he's in his 90s. In a hedgerow, maybe.

So anyway, it seems that you can learn stuff from this photo-blogging lark. Good news!
