The Phantom Major

A flying visit to Edinburgh - there today and home tomorrow. Stopped off to see this wonderful statue of David Stirling, which stands on a rock on the Hill of Row above Bridge of Allan in Stirlingshire, near his old family home at Keir.

David was the founder of the SAS in WW2 and his amazing exploits in North Africa are recorded in the book 'The Phantom Major'.
